Why Is Your Birth Time So Important?

I have a bone to pick with ‘pop astrology’. Horoscopes in the magazines, newspapers, and all that. Maybe I’m showing my age since everything is online nowadays? Grouping people by their sun sign is only focusing on one very small piece of the bigger picture of astrology. When I first became interested in reading my horoscope I was curious, but didn’t put much stock into it, because how can you group the entire world into 12 factions?
Many years later, a coworker asked me what my “big three” are. Excuse me, my what? She showed me my entire chart and it was like an entirely new universe appeared. Essentially your natal chart is a snapshot of the moment you were born. The big three are the three most personal placements in your birth chart.
-The Sun is the easiest placement to find. This is what we think of when someone asks, “what’s your sign?”. The sun moves roughly one degree a day; therefore, it will approximately be in the same spot every year.
-The Moon travels through each sign in about 2-2.5 days. This is the placement most likely to change signs in the middle of the day.
-The Ascendant is the point that was rising over the eastern horizon, which is why we also call it the rising sign. This is arguably the most personalized point in your chart, as the degree changes every four minutes or so.

When we have the birth time, it’s like focusing on a microscope for a clearer image. Sun sign astrology isn’t necessarily ‘wrong’, but it lacks MAJOR context. There are a ton more planets and placements at play, so this is where I recommend starting. I do offer a 30 minute mini reading covering your Sun, Moon, and Ascendant. This is a great place to start if you're new to astrology!
Do you know your birth time??
Yepp! Straight from the birth certificate.
Maybe? My mom is pretty sure.
I don't have a clue!
